2014-2017

The University of Toronto MD program offers a robust ethics and professionalism curriculum, including lectures, seminars, experiential learning with standardized patients, and formal assessments. In addition to managing and teaching in this program, I also worked with students undergoing remediation for professionalism concerns.

Co-Author
”Learning Professionalism in the Practice of Law”
for the Chief Justice of Ontario Advisory Committee on Professionalism

2013

Dr. Shelley Keirstead of Osgoode Hall Law School and I conducted a qualitative study of how Ontario lawyers learned professionalism in practice. We ran a number of focus groups in multiple locations, including participants from large law firms, small law firms, and sole practitioners. We concluded that engaging in problem solving and reflection through problems embedded in the workplace is essential to learning ethical sensitivity, reasoning, and managing ethical issues.
